You are Amazing!!!

Hey Art Club members!!!

I just want to say, give yourselves a pat on the back!!! We finished our decorations for the Rock Band event, and they look AMAZING. Mr. Jensen and Mr. Barsalou are very pleased. Sure, there are a few more things we wanted to do, but let me tell you that you guys did an amazing job with creating these decorations. Thank you SO much for your help!! You all deserve a pizza party, which is happening this Friday, thanks to Mr. Jensen!

What Happened Today

Hey everyone!!!

I'd say today's meeting was FANTASTIC! It always goes well, but what really made today awesome is that we had 100% group participation in something artistic. I'd love to see that every week, and for the most part, we have been! :)

Two things: one relates to the stones. My mom told me/reminded me (I don't remember hearing it before...) that in order for the glass stones to COMPLETELY cure, it takes about a week. Yes, they're dry to the touch, but the paint can still be scraped off at this point. In order to dry COMPLETELY you shouldn't touch it, scratch it, mess with it, etc. for a week. Sorry I didn't mention that to you guys.

The next thing: updates about the Rock Band event. Just a reminder, it's happening on Feb. 8th, and Student Council is thinking about advertising soon, so keep that in mind. We'll probably be making posters, etc. some time soon. Just a heads up.

Thanks for being such awesome people, Art Club! Last but not least, kudos to Mr. Jensen for sponsoring the club and making it all possible. :) Have a great three day weekend!!!

Art Club 2012!

Hey everyone. :) There will be an Art Club meeting this week, on Friday, in Mr. Jensen's room! The reason the last two meetings of 2011 were on Thursdays was because he wasn't available those past two Fridays. But that was only temporary.

Here's one of my ideas for what we can do this week - I talked to a couple of members about it and they were interested, so I think we'll do it... we take some of those glass pebble things and acrylic paint, and we paint the flat side of the pebbles and make cool designs and stuff. We could hand them out to teachers, friends, keep them, what not... they make nice paperweights, decorations, etc. Just an idea. I'm going to run out tomorrow and get what we need for it. We're kind of low on acrylic paints anyway so I'm going to pick some more up.

Meeting Dates Moved

Hey everyone!

Art Club will NOT take place on Friday of this week or next week as well. Mr. Jensen can't be there after school on those two Fridays, the 9th and the 16th. Therefore we'll hold Art Club on the Thursdays the 8th and the 15th. If you can't make it, don't worry about it! It's all good. Just letting you know. This is only for this week and next week, it's not a permanent change. See you soon, artists!

Rock Band Event Postponed!

Hey everyone!

I know a couple of you may know this already, but I have just been told that our Rock Band event is being pushed back even further than December 7th. It'll happen sometime next year after Christmas break, which means we have a LOT more time to make decorations and make them look awesome! By the way, if you have been checking this website for updates and you are reading this post right now, would you please comment or respond to this post, or send me an email, somehow letting me know that you're getting the updates? I want news to travel quickly and efficiently and I'm worried that people may not get important info in time.

Another thing: soon in December, Mr. Jensen will not be available after school to supervise Art Club, which means we can either have it on Thursday or just not have at all, and we'll discuss that as a group soon.
